Work Out those Busy-Season Knots

The Young CPA Committee of the Florida Institute of CPAs has a remedy for frazzled, desk-bound accounting professionals of all ages!

Join the movement to lend your able bodies for the statewide CPA Day of Service, to be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017. It’s an initiative that promotes the generosity of our profession by organizing our members, their associates, friends and families together to impact their local communities for this annual, one-day charitable event.

There are 2 ways you can get involved…

1) Volunteer for a project near you…and ask another CPA to join you.

2) Start a project in your community… and rally your associates to sign up.

To give you an idea…some projects in the past involved home-building, organizing closets, organizing pantries, beach clean-ups, cleaning interiors, cleaning exteriors, yard work, painting, dog-washing, bus-detailing, walking horses, and directing runners.  Some of the charity organizations that eagerly provided projects last year included Habitat for Humanity, Feeding South Florida, Food for Thought, Grace Mission, Harbour House Shelter, Keep Jax Beautiful, Lighthouse for the Blind, Loggerhead Marine Life Center, Secret Woods Nature Center…on and on!

The word is beginning to spread and new projects are being added daily.  So, come work out those busy-season knots on this Saturday in May…and enjoy the comradery of kindness!
