Join the movement to lend your able bodies for the statewide CPA Day of Service, to be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017. It’s an initiative that promotes the generosity of our profession by organizing our members, their associates, friends and families together to impact their local communities for this annual, one-day charitable event.

1) Volunteer for a project near you…and ask a colleague to join you.

KirkThe FICPA is providing many great opportunities for young CPAs around our state right now.

The FICPA Horizon Awards is just about to close its nominations this Wednesday, November 30, 2016. This award recognizes the brightest young CPAs at the forefront of our profession. Through service to the FICPA, these individuals are advancing the CPA profession and working to better their communities. The requirements for nomination are that the individual is a member of the FICPA, under 36 years old as of March 1, 2017, and must agree to have his/her likeness and profile featured in the March/April issue of the Florida CPA Today Magazine.  (more…)

RankinOn Thursday, December 3rd, a bunch of wild and crazy CPA’s in Panama City Beach, FL took over the Dave & Buster’s in Pier Park.  Okay – we weren’t wild and crazy, but we had a chance to be!  The local Miracle Strip Chapter planned a holiday social for us and combined member appreciation, a student benefit, and the Young CPA’s into one event.  To get in the door and receive free food and a free loaded game card all you had to do was bring school supplies.

The Chapter chose to select the Bay County School Homeless EducationFun & Games 3 program to support this year.  In the Bay County school system there are over 800 students who are considered homeless.  The school supplies that we donated will be used by these kids throughout the school year.
